How to look for a hypnotist and how to let go in hypnosis

When you're looking for a hypnotist, you're looking for more than credentials. You want someone who not only knows what they're doing, but who can meet you in the moments you feel stuck — because those moments will come.

Here's what almost no one tells you before their first session: the biggest obstacle to hypnosis usually isn't the hypnotist, and it isn't you being "unhypnotizable." It's control.

The Grip

There are times we feel so anxious walking into this work that we convince ourselves we won't see anything. We want the experience so badly that we grip it — analyzing every image, questioning every sensation, hovering above ourselves asking, is this working? Am I doing it right?

That grip is understandable. For many of us, control has been our safety. It's how we survived unpredictable homes, painful relationships, and seasons of life where letting our guard down wasn't an option. So when hypnosis asks for the very thing we've spent a lifetime protecting ourselves against — surrender — of course something in us resists.

But hypnosis requires surrender. Not surrender to me, and not a loss of control in the way movies portray it. You remain aware and in choice the entire time. What I mean is a softening — a willingness to stop steering for a little while and let your subconscious show you what it's been holding.

That softening can't be forced. It can only be invited. And that's where the relationship with your hypnotist matters more than any technique.

How I Work With the Walls, Helping you Let Go in Hypnosis

I don't push clients past their resistance. I work with it, slowly, because resistance is never random — it's protection, and it deserves respect.

Together, we get curious about the blockers. Where did this need for control begin? What is it guarding? Often the wall itself is the first doorway: the very thing keeping you from going deeper is connected to the very thing you came to heal.

In our sessions, I also utilize Reiki to help your body relax into the process. When the nervous system settles, the mind stops white-knuckling. Letting go stops feeling like a risk and starts feeling like relief. You become enabled to release — not talked into it, not rushed into it. Enabled.

And we move at your pace. Always. Some clients drop deep in their first session. Others need two or three sessions before the walls soften. Neither is better. Neither is behind. Your subconscious knows exactly how fast is safe, and I trust it.

What I See and Feel Alongside You

I am deeply intuitive and sensitive to energy, and this shapes everything about how I facilitate.

When you're in hypnosis, I can see what you see. I can feel the walls as they come up — what's holding you back, what you're feeling, and where it lives in your body. When a client's throat tightens around words they've never been allowed to say, I feel it. When grief sits in a chest or fear coils in a stomach, I sense it before it's spoken.

This means you're never navigating the experience alone. You're not lying there wondering if you're doing it wrong while someone reads a script. I'm tracking with you, moment by moment, adjusting to what your energy and your subconscious are showing me.

I demonstrate this in the live readings I do and in my free consultations — because I don't think you should have to take my word for any of it.

Trust Is Built Before We Begin

This is the part I want you to hear most: trust is something that is built before we begin.

It's built in the first conversation, when you feel heard instead of analyzed. It's built in a live reading, when I reflect something back to you that I had no ordinary way of knowing. It's built in a free consultation, where you can ask every question, voice every fear, and feel for yourself whether this is a person you can soften with.

And ultimately, it's built in the proof of it all — as you experience what it is to go into hypnosis under the facilitation of a trustworthy hypnotist. Not because I told you that you could trust me, but because your body and your subconscious came to their own conclusion.

That's the standard I hold myself to. And honestly? It's the standard you should hold anyone to before you hand them the privilege of guiding you into your deepest inner world.

If you've been curious but the gripping part of you keeps saying not yet — that's okay. Start with a free consultation. Come see how it feels. We'll move at your pace from there.
