How I Use Self-Hypnosis to Manage My AuDHD Mind

ADHD ♡ Autism = AuDHD

I am someone who is hyper-focused on my work to a fault due to my AuDHD. I am a deeply passionate and highly focused person who works around the clock because I don't know what I enjoy outside of hypnosis.

I find that I am restless because I can't help the drive in me that feels like I always have to be busy. I overwork.

I have found that I exhaust myself mostly doing the work to push my work out, and it widely goes unseen. Unseen doesn't mean I stop. I can't stop. The only break and reprieve I get is in self-hypnosis.

A Place I Go

There is a place I like to go in hypnosis, at Sawgrass Lake Park. I took a nap today, and it was deeply restful, because I went somatically and journalistically to Sawgrass for a walk and enjoyed all the views I remembered. I was on my bike, sharing with people that I was visiting from Washington after many years. It was my present self, in my dream, visiting my memory. System reset. By the time I woke up, I was smiling and let out a deep sigh of relief. That was massive for me after such a busy and exhausting week.

On Lucid Dreaming

People often ask me how they can open up lucid dreaming, and it is expanded with dream journaling. Even if all you remember is how you felt, or shapes and colors, recall it and journal about it. It pushes the muscle of the mind in charge of dreaming and that imagery. Like any other skill, you build it. Keep a journal under your pillow.

On Self-Hypnosis

Then I am asked about self-hypnosis. What I do first is light energy healing — balancing my chakras and setting a protection around myself. Then I somatically visit a peaceful place where I am comfortable, to move into a hypnotic state. Then I set the intention for what I am trying to achieve, and move back to the appropriate time and place. It may seem complicated, but you get used to the process. I follow my script and detail out loud, speaking verbally to keep myself from falling asleep — unless the goal, of course, is to sleep.

When I go into self-hypnosis, on a deep sleep, I take real lucid breaks from my work. It also gives me a break from my AuDHD mind that needs to shut down once in a while.
